Off to Maine we go! Our goal was to leave early in the morning, but I am sure as many of you went on road trips, we didn't leave as early as we hoped. The car seat alone took 45 minutes to get installed. I'm glad those things are safe, but man I wish it were easier to clip everything in. We ended up with an upgrade to a Chevy Captiva SUV, which has been great for the drive.
We took the longer, but more scenic route to Maine - which meant instead of cutting through Connecticut, we drove on I-95 through Rhode Island to Massachusetts. We stopped in Foxboro to get gas (that's where the Patriots play) and then stopped again quick in New Hampshire before getting to the house in South Portland around 6:45. We got dinner together, put Lily to bed and watched our depressing Michigan game.
The drive went well - Lily and Joe were backseat buddies the whole time! Joe did a great job entertaining our little traveler who only conked out for about 40 minutes in that entire time. She was ready for bed when we arrived in Maine.
Now on to lobster eating!
