There were clear skies before the fireworks last night. We didn't do anything especially awesome for the 4th of July - just hung around the neighborhood and went for a couple walks. It was rainy during the day, so we couldn't visit the playground.
I did venture down our street to the Promenade, overlooking the harbor to see if it was crazy for the fireworks. It wasn't too crazy, so I stayed and watched the Macy's fireworks. This is the first year in many that they returned to the East River.
Macy's set-up their barges just south of the Brooklyn Bridge and they also shot some of the fireworks from the bridge itself. One of our neighborhood bloggers took an excellent video of the fireworks, which I posted below.
I couldn't see all the fireworks from the bridge from where I was standing, but I knew our neighborhood blogger would take a great video. He did not disappoint!
We walked over the Brooklyn Bridge today so that we could run an errand in lower Manhattan. It was nice out, so why not?
