October went by quickly! Lily keeps a busy schedule - gymnastics, jazz, play dates with her buddy Gary, swimming, Chinese and zoo classes!
Liliana also tried her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich (on left and yes that is a piece of broccoli on her cheek too) in October and loved it. She also figured out quickly that she liked the jelly more than the peanut butter...or the bread.
She is running, climbing and yelling as much as an active toddler should be. She is rapidly adding new words to her vocabulary - including owl, batman (my favorite), and boots.
We took Liliana down Montague street for most of her trick-or-treating but Garden Place is the spot to be for Halloween in Brooklyn Heights. The street is blocked off from traffic and people sit on their stoops and hand out candy. It was a zoo!
We went for a walk around the neighborhood with our neighbors who have a 2 month old and tried stopping by Garden Place...you'd have to be a big kid who cared a lot about getting candy in order to trick or treat in this mess. Lily made it to 2 houses and then we walked around the rest of the neighborhood!
And what's a zoo class without a little art while sitting on the countertop? That week they were learning about nocturnal animals, so she was coloring in a star with chalk.
Daddy colored the other side after Lily was done and now their artwork is hanging in Liliana's room :)
We had fun at zoo classes this month - getting to meet a hedgehog and a snake! Liliana likes walking to class since she gets to watch the Delacorte Clock chime.
It has monkeys on the top that hit the bell and the animals dance around the pillar in the middle. There is a goat playing the pipes, a kangaroo (and joey) playing the horns, a penguin with drums, a bear with a tambourine and a hippo playing the violin.
Zoo class is housed in a building just to the right of the clock, so we get to walk under it on our way in.
Liliana got to touch the snake in our last zoo class this weekend and the hedgehog the week before.
She learned to say "ssssss" for what a snake says, so she was saying that all the way through class too.
