Today was Liliana's first zoo class at Central Park. We both got to go with Liliana as she met other babies (or babos as she calls them) and played with lots of fun toys, books and animals!
They started class with introductions and then we had play stations. Lily immediately went to the book station first and then on to the water station. She finished up with the sand station and skipped the art station altogether. Maybe next week :)
She got to meet and touch a chuckwalla lizard. She did a very good job with "gentle touching" with the animals whereas another kid apparently squeezed the lizard until it bulged. Oops. Lily was so good at touching the lizard, she got to do it twice!
Chuck, the Chuckwalla, is native to Southwestern United States and he is part of the iguana family. We learned that when they are chased (and caught) by predators, they let their tails fall off to avoid being eaten!
