Today was a pretty great Friday for little miss L. She got to go to Chinese this morning, which she loves anyway but today, she discovered their classroom calendar on the wall. She had a ball taking off and putting back on the little date cards.
On our way back from class, we saw not your normal musician in the subway hallway.
The MTA funds a program called Music Under New York and they hold annual auditions at Grand Central, which are open to the public to determine which artists get to play. They give the artists fancy, laminated placards so you know who they are and that they are professional artists. Not everyone is a classical artist - some are hip hop, reggae, and dance artists.
Lily's Friday only got better. Tonight, we went to go visit the kittens in the local florist shop and the florist gave Liliana a pink balloon. He seriously made her night. She was so excited. She held onto the balloon ribbon so tight all the way around the neighborhood and until she went to bed, basically.
We also passed a saxophonist on Montague street (our main street). He played her the Mickey Mouse song. She clapped, smiled, danced and waved all the way through.
