First, a HUGE THANK YOU to Lori for making time and taking 1200 pictures of Liliana. No joke. She widdled it down to 300 and then I widdled it down so you can see some of them below.
Don't worry, I already have some of these on order. So, hard copy photos will be on their way soon! If you want a specific one that you see here, please let me know which one!
It's been cold and Liliana has been sick, so again, we've mostly stayed inside. We do go out for walks for errands, but there is very little dawdling or walking out of our way to get more walking in. This week, she has not had any of her regular preschool prep classes because the school is closed (following the NYC school schedule).
One day, I dug way back and found an angel food cake mix which entails adding water. So we did. I put the bowl down on the ground and we both stirred it. We each had a mixer beater and did it by hand. And of course, after the pouring was done, she had a couple minutes with the bowl. I wasn't sure if she'd stick her hands in because she is pretty persnickety about getting things on her hands, but when sugar is involved, it must be a different story. She was REALLY good about giving the bowl back though.
We've also been doing a bunch of painting. Here's our latest. And by our, I mean - I do the gluing but Liliana does all the painting and sprinkling of sequins.
And if you've read this far, we did do a photo shoot with the lovely Lori Cannava (my friend and RA from undergrad!) last week. There are a million photos and I still have to go through them all, so I will post those within the next couple weeks!
We were slated to make some cookies for Liliana's cousins in Chicago, and then I happened upon an art blog post about painting sugar cookies and it was decided! I cut the sugar cookies out while she napped and she spent about 20 minutes painting and sprinkling (a lot). Then she patiently waited in her chair while the cookies baked. She was only allowed her Mickey cookie and the rest will go off to Chicago!
Hope you guys you enjoy - sorry they didn't retain their heart shapes ;)
Playing in boxes, rocking on horses and painting penguins are a few of the activities we've been up to lately. It's been either cold, snowing, or freezing rain and treacherous to walk outside with Liliana, so we've stayed inside most days. We've managed to have fun anyway! We take a lot of walks to the laundry room or to get the mail, too.
